With just a few more weeks before the gift-giving season, Toshiba’s timely release of a new version of its Excite 10 tablet is all geared up to clash head on with the iPad mini with a much affordable price on offer for customers.
The latest version of the Toshiba Excite 10, which will run on android Jelly Bean 4.1, was released last Friday, December 7, by the Japanese electronics magnate. The Excite 10 is a full-sized 10-inch tablet with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a 3Mp camera, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core with an internal storage of 16GB, the Toshiba Excite 10 has a lot to offer in the field of tablet computing for a price that’s competitive when put up against other notable tablets in the market such as the iPad, Asus, and other Android tablets.
While the regular pricing for the Toshiba Excite 10 is set at $399, its price has gone down to $350 since yesterday at the ToshibaDirect.com website. The tablet is also available at Amazon.com and at Best Buy stores within the US.
By offering the market a choice for a high-end Jellybean tablet that’s cheaper than other popular tablets, Toshiba might still be able to catch up with its performance in the last quarter of 2012. But whether or not holiday shoppers will be veered towards buying the Toshiba Excite 10 for its offered price still remains to be seen.
